To become a U.S. citizen, USCIS does require you to pass certain tests during the interview process. First, they will test your knowledge of the English language. The purpose of the test is to make sure you have a basic ability to read, write and speak English. Next, USCIS will conduct an oral exam about U.S. government and history. You need to get 60% of the questions correct to pass. They will only ask you 10 questions but all of the possible 100 questions can be found on the USCIS website.
